About Game

At Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) we believe that mass entrepreneurship is the power of ordinary people building businesses using local resources, serving domestic and global markets, and creating jobs and prosperity.

As an ecosystem enabler, we bring together partners, funders, policymakers, and other stakeholders in the MSME ecosystem to catalyse a nationwide movement of mass entrepreneurship. Through action-driven coalitions around key themes such as Local Entrepreneurship Missions, Business in a Box, Women’s Economic Empowerment, and Ecosystem Building, GAME hopes to develop an ecosystem that encourages and enables entrepreneurship.

GAME was founded in August 2018 by three prolific entrepreneurs Ravi Venkatesan, Madan Padaki, and Mekin Maheshwari to address systemic challenges to job creation in India.

Ravi Venkatesan

“The problem of unemployment in our country is huge and its very structural and technology is going to make it worse. Entrepreneurship feels like it could be a solution but the kind of entrepreneurship we need is not narrow, it’s not unicorns, tech startups in big cities like Bangalore.

It is ordinary people starting ordinary businesses in every small town, big city, village in the country. Can we catalyse such a movement?”

Madan Padaki

“To overcome the job crisis and tackle the economic challenges facing our country, we need to exponentially increase the number of job creators – this would entail generating a more robust growth of the MSME sector, which is the hotbed for entrepreneurship in India. GAME as an alliance of ecosystem actors (government, philanthropy, financial institutions, industry/trade associations, media, think-tanks, educational institutions, grassroot agencies etc.) is focussed on developing a more conducive environment that enables the growth of enterprises who can generate millions of jobs across the country.”

Mekin Maheshwari

“Right now entrepreneurship, the way the media talks about it, captures it, seems very distant. Youth often don’t even think about it like, ’I don’t think I can do that’. While entrepreneurship is much broader. One can actually start from anything that the youth might be good at.”

The Alliance

The alliance operates through partner organisations, across policy, civil society, academia, and the private sector generating fresh insights, opportunity zones, new ideas, innovative technologies, and scalable actions.

GAME believes that solving hard problems requires collective effort, and the organisation serves to guide and enable collective impact. Learn more.
